Shivam Kharod


Shivam Kharod, M.D. is a native of Tampa, FL. He received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences with Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida in 2013. He was part of the prestigious Medical Honors Program at the University of Florida College of Medicine, which is a combined, accelerated 7-year B.S./M.D. program. He received his medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Florida in 2016 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, which recognizes medical students who have demonstrated high achievement in the fields of scholarship, research, and service.

During medical school, Dr. Kharod conducted research in the University of Florida Department of Radiation Oncology, focusing on treatment outcomes following radiation for Brain tumors and Lymphoma. He also performed community service by volunteering in the Equal Access Clinic Network, which is a network of clinics in Gainesville that provides free, high-quality medical care to the local community. He also joined a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2014 and helped provide medical care to patients in need.

Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Kharod completed an internship in the University of Florida Department of Internal Medicine at UF Health Shands Hospital, in Gainesville, FL. He then completed residency training in Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida, where he worked with leading experts in all aspects of radiation oncology. He graduated as Chief Resident in 2021. While completing residency, Dr. Kharod authored more than 13 research publications, and presented at several national conferences, focusing on Head and Neck malignancies, Sarcomas, Prostate cancers, and Lung cancers.

Dr. Kharod has expertise in treating a wide range of cancers, including breast, prostate, lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, genitourinary, sarcomas, and central nervous system malignancies. He is very excited to bring the latest advancements in medical science and technology close to your home, and will strive to develop a treatment plan that is personalized to your goals, needs, and values.

In addition to his passion for community cancer care, Dr. Kharod enjoys weightlifting, yoga, hiking, and traveling in his free time. He is a die-hard fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Florida Gators.
